Elle constitue le point de d\u00e9part d\u2019un projet plus large portant sur les conditions contemporaines de production des images, envisag\u00e9es \u00e0 l\u2019intersection des crises \u00e9cologiques, technologiques et politiques.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"801\" data-end=\"1210\">La vid\u00e9o met en sc\u00e8ne un nuage noir \u00e9voluant dans un espace architectural perspectif, identifiable comme une galerie d\u2019art contemporaine vide. Cette forme sombre, instable et suspendue, se d\u00e9ploie dans un environnement g\u00e9om\u00e9trique, contr\u00f4l\u00e9 et apparemment neutre. Le nuage appara\u00eet moins comme un ph\u00e9nom\u00e8ne naturel que comme une entit\u00e9 calcul\u00e9e et ambigu\u00eb, oscillant entre fluidit\u00e9 continue et menace latente.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1212\" data-end=\"1725\">La figure du <em data-start=\"1225\" data-end=\"1232\">cloud<\/em> engage ici une double lecture. Elle renvoie simultan\u00e9ment au nuage atmosph\u00e9rique associ\u00e9 aux d\u00e9r\u00e8glements climatiques et au cloud num\u00e9rique, infrastructure invisible mais omnipr\u00e9sente sur laquelle reposent les technologies contemporaines, en particulier les syst\u00e8mes d\u2019intelligence artificielle. Cette superposition met en tension le naturel et le technologique, le visible et l\u2019invisible, le ph\u00e9nom\u00e8ne et l\u2019infrastructure, tout en r\u00e9v\u00e9lant l\u2019illusion d\u2019une image pr\u00e9tendument d\u00e9mat\u00e9rialis\u00e9e.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1727\" data-end=\"2068\">Le recours aux intelligences artificielles g\u00e9n\u00e9ratives n\u2019est pas un simple choix technique, mais un \u00e9l\u00e9ment central du dispositif critique. La vid\u00e9o explore la capacit\u00e9 de ces syst\u00e8mes \u00e0 produire des formes fluides, continues et optimis\u00e9es, tout en rendant perceptible la logique de calcul, de flux et de simulation qui structure ces images.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"2070\" data-end=\"2394\">La bande sonore immersive, compos\u00e9e de respirations sourdes, de murmures et de chuchotements, renforce l\u2019instabilit\u00e9 de la forme et contribue \u00e0 l\u2019installation d\u2019un climat de tension persistante. Le nuage semble travers\u00e9 par des flux invisibles, comme s\u2019il condensait des forces qui exc\u00e8dent le cadre dans lequel il appara\u00eet.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"2396\" data-end=\"2779\">Le format court et cyclique de la vid\u00e9o instaure une temporalit\u00e9 r\u00e9p\u00e9titive, sans progression narrative. Cette suspension confronte le spectateur \u00e0 une image qui ne se r\u00e9sout pas, mais se maintient comme un \u00e9tat. Elle ne cherche pas \u00e0 en reproduire l\u2019esth\u00e9tique, mais \u00e0 en mettre \u00e0 l\u2019\u00e9preuve les conditions de possibilit\u00e9 en r\u00e9inscrivant l\u2019image g\u00e9n\u00e9r\u00e9e dans un champ mat\u00e9riel, gestuel et irr\u00e9versible.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"3341\" data-end=\"3820\">La composition repr\u00e9sente un espace architectural perspectif, identifiable comme un lieu d\u2019exposition, au sein duquel se condense une masse sombre instable. Le nuage, \u00e0 la fois flottant et ancr\u00e9, occupe le centre de la toile et se prolonge vers le sol par des coulures et des filaments qui \u00e9voquent des racines, des corps ou des traces d\u2019effondrement. Il appara\u00eet moins comme une forme atmosph\u00e9rique que comme une concentration de forces, marqu\u00e9e par la gravit\u00e9 et la saturation.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"3822\" data-end=\"4261\">Par une palette r\u00e9duite de noirs, de gris et de blancs, et par un travail de mati\u00e8re fond\u00e9 sur l\u2019accident, la coulure et la densit\u00e9, la peinture alt\u00e8re la neutralit\u00e9 suppos\u00e9e de l\u2019espace architectural. Celui-ci cesse d\u2019\u00eatre un cadre passif pour devenir un milieu contamin\u00e9, affect\u00e9 par la pr\u00e9sence du nuage. L\u2019espace d\u2019exposition est ici envisag\u00e9 comme un lieu impliqu\u00e9, travers\u00e9 par les m\u00eames d\u00e9s\u00e9quilibres que les images qu\u2019il accueille.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"4263\" data-end=\"4684\">La r\u00e9f\u00e9rence au <em data-start=\"4279\" data-end=\"4286\">cloud<\/em> y conserve sa double dimension, climatique et num\u00e9rique, mais elle est abord\u00e9e depuis une mat\u00e9rialit\u00e9 assum\u00e9e. L\u00e0 o\u00f9 la vid\u00e9o mettait en \u00e9vidence la fluidit\u00e9 et la continuit\u00e9 propres aux images computationnelles, la peinture introduit une r\u00e9sistance. Le geste pictural r\u00e9inscrit l\u2019image dans une temporalit\u00e9 lente, non optimisable, et dans un rapport physique \u00e0 la surface, au poids et \u00e0 la trace.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"4686\" data-end=\"4990\">En ce sens, la peinture agit comme un ralentisseur critique face aux r\u00e9cits technosolutionnistes et \u00e0 la promesse de d\u00e9mat\u00e9rialisation associ\u00e9e aux technologies num\u00e9riques. Elle rappelle que les images, m\u00eame g\u00e9n\u00e9r\u00e9es, demeurent indissociables de conditions mat\u00e9rielles, \u00e9nerg\u00e9tiques et environnementales.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"4992\" data-end=\"5265\"><em data-start=\"4992\" data-end=\"5004\">Dark Cloud<\/em> propose ainsi une image de l\u2019\u00e9poque comme \u00e9tat instable et durablement perturb\u00e9, dans lequel les crises \u00e9cologiques et technologiques ne sont plus des \u00e9v\u00e9nements ext\u00e9rieurs, mais des conditions structurelles qui traversent les espaces, les corps et les images.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"415\" data-end=\"700\"><strong data-start=\"415\" data-end=\"429\">Dark Cloud<\/strong> is a video work created using generative artificial intelligence systems. It constitutes the starting point of a broader project that examines contemporary conditions of image production, considered at the intersection of ecological, technological, and political crises.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"702\" data-end=\"1094\">The video stages a black cloud evolving within a perspectival architectural space identifiable as an empty contemporary art gallery. This dark, unstable, suspended form unfolds within a geometric, controlled, and seemingly neutral environment. The cloud appears less as a natural phenomenon than as a calculated and ambiguous entity, oscillating between continuous fluidity and latent threat.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1096\" data-end=\"1609\">The figure of the <em data-start=\"1114\" data-end=\"1121\">cloud<\/em> activates a double reading. It simultaneously refers to the atmospheric cloud associated with climate disruption and to the digital cloud, an invisible yet omnipresent infrastructure upon which contemporary technologies rely, particularly artificial intelligence systems. This superposition creates a tension between the natural and the technological, the visible and the invisible, the phenomenon and the infrastructure, while exposing the illusion of a supposedly dematerialized image.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1611\" data-end=\"1940\">The use of generative artificial intelligence is not merely a technical choice but a central element of the critical framework. The video explores the capacity of these systems to produce fluid, continuous, and optimized forms, while making perceptible the logic of calculation, flow, and simulation that structures these images.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1942\" data-end=\"2244\">The immersive soundscape, composed of low respirations, murmurs, and whispers, reinforces the instability of the form and contributes to the installation of a persistent state of tension. The cloud appears traversed by invisible flows, as if condensing forces that exceed the frame in which it appears.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"2246\" data-end=\"2601\">The short, cyclical format establishes a repetitive temporality with no narrative progression. This suspension confronts the viewer with an image that does not resolve itself but persists as a state. The exhibition space, though virtual and empty, no longer appears as a neutral frame but as a site already affected by the infrastructural logics it hosts.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"2603\" data-end=\"2820\">The video thus offers an initial diagnosis of the contemporary image, understood as a symptom of a regime of production grounded in optimization, continuous circulation, and the invisibilization of its material costs.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"2894\" data-end=\"3157\">The painting <strong data-start=\"2907\" data-end=\"2921\">Dark Cloud<\/strong> proceeds from a pictorial displacement of the video project. It does not seek to reproduce its aesthetic but to test its conditions of possibility by reinscribing the generated image within a material, gestural, and irreversible field.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"3159\" data-end=\"3585\">The composition depicts a perspectival architectural space identifiable as an exhibition site, within which an unstable dark mass condenses. The cloud, both floating and grounded, occupies the center of the canvas and extends toward the floor through drips and filaments that evoke roots, bodies, or traces of collapse. It appears less as an atmospheric form than as a concentration of forces marked by gravity and saturation.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"3587\" data-end=\"4040\">Through a reduced palette of blacks, greys, and whites, and through a material treatment based on accident, dripping, and density, the painting disrupts the presumed neutrality of the architectural space. The space ceases to function as a passive frame and becomes a contaminated environment, affected by the presence of the cloud. The exhibition site is here conceived as an implicated space, traversed by the same imbalances as the images it contains.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"4042\" data-end=\"4452\">The reference to the <em data-start=\"4063\" data-end=\"4070\">cloud<\/em> retains its double dimension, climatic and digital, but is approached through an asserted materiality. Where the video foregrounded the fluidity and continuity characteristic of computational images, the painting introduces resistance. The pictorial gesture reinscribes the image within a slow, non-optimizable temporality and a physical relationship to surface, weight, and trace.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"4454\" data-end=\"4757\">In this sense, the painting operates as a critical slowing-down in relation to techno-solutionist narratives and the promise of dematerialization associated with digital technologies.
